TerrawoRx Services™: Turning BROWN to GREEN™

ADVANTAGES: "Instant lawn". May be walked on soon after planting. Dust, mud and erosion are quickly reduced. May be planted anytime during the growing season as long as adequate water is available. Initially weed-free. DISADVANTAGES: Higher initial cost. Stressed product due to cutting root system. Poorly grown in New Mexico clay or caliche. Grown using only synthetic chemicals. Not grown with Mycorrhizae fungi and other beneficial microbes. Large volume of water required for growth. Choice of species is very limited. Not produced in shaded environment. Sod will shrink and weeds usually invade especially if the sod is not properly installed. Do not stretch sod. Stagger seams similar to brick-laying. Speed of rooting varies with season due to initial roots having been severed.
IN CORRALES:

ADVANTAGES: Lower overall cost than sodding. Larger selection of species available. Different mixes of species and blends of different cultivars are available for specific management practices, sun or shade, disease resistance, and soil type. Grass is protected from environmental stresses due to fiber within slurry. Slurry retains moisture. Dust, mud, and erosion are controlled and mediated due to organic tacking agent. Roots are not stressed due to being cut. Roots are inoculated with Mycorrhizae fungi and other beneficial microbes for better nutrient and water uptake. Beneficial microbes within defend against disease. Roots retain better access to oxygen and water penetration. Soil microbes within application assist in aggregating soils. Turfgrass develops in the environment in which it will live. Reduced initial and long-term water usage. DISADVANTAGES: Timing of establishment critical. Best time is Spring and Fall. Longer time period to get a dense lawn. May require reseeding due to poor germination due to Acts of God, irrigation failures, or neglect. Weeds can be a problem until lawn is fully established. Initial watering is critical.
